We offer a wide range of general dental services in our downtown Sebastopol office. Below is a listing of the most common services we offer. Click on any of the services below for more details:
Dental Bridges – A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by placing an artificial tooth in the space and connecting it to the neighboring teeth. This not only improves the appearance of your smile, but has benefits for your oral health.
Children’s Dentistry – We encourage parents to bring their children in for regular dental care soon after their first teeth start to come in. The benefits of early dental care are many. Your dentist can detect early tooth decay before it begins to affect your child’s teeth, helping them keep up with good oral health from the very start. It also helps your child establish good dental habits to carry with them as they grow up, like getting regular dental cleanings and learning the best ways to take care of their teeth daily at home.
Composite Fillings – We use composite fillings at Oak Tree Dental because the resin they’re made from allows us to customize the shade and color to match your natural teeth perfectly. With composite resin fillings, you can have cavities even on your front teeth filled and retain a natural-looking, attractive smile, with the filling indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
Cosmetic Dentistry – Whether you are facing issues with decay and wear, mottled, stained or discolored teeth, crooked or misshapen teeth, cracks, or chips, there is a cosmetic dentistry solution. We can help fix the appearance of a gummy smile, whiten or straighten your teeth, or even restore & replace damaged or missing teeth.
Crowns – A crown is sometimes also called a cap, because it is an artificial structure that is bonded to the top of a tooth, like a cap over it. Its purpose is to strengthen a weak tooth, protect a broken tooth, or hold together a cracked tooth. It can also be used to restore age-worn teeth or teeth with other damage.
Exams & Cleanings – During a dental exam, your dentist will carefully examine your mouth, tongue, gums, teeth, bite and jaw to detect any problems. We typically also take a set of digital dental X-rays to uncover problems like decay, cavities, or other trouble spots in your teeth. We’ll look for gum disease, oral cancer and any other health issues, as well as how your bite functions and whether you have any trouble with your teeth or jaw.
Dentures – When our patients are dealing with several missing teeth in a row, or need to replace a full set of upper or lower teeth, dentures are often the best way to give them back a natural-looking smile and functional teeth. We believe that dentures should look, fit and feel great, so Dr. Grados and Dr. Shehadeh begin every new treatment by taking the time to understand the patient’s individual needs.
Extractions – Whether you need to have wisdom teeth removed or a troublesome tooth extracted, a tooth extraction is a safe and simple procedure easily performed in-office at Oak Tree Dental. Dr. Grados and Dr. Shehadeh are both experienced in extracting teeth painlessly, with extra care always paid to the well-being of the patient.
Implant Restorations – Dental implants are a big part of modern restorative dentistry, allowing dentists to replace missing teeth with a more durable, stronger substitute than ever before. They consist of a metal post anchored in the jaw, which an artificial replacement tooth will then cover. The post keeps the implant as secure as the natural roots of a tooth normally would, and the replacement is created to look just like your natural teeth.
Inlays & Onlays – When a tooth is weakened or damaged, there are multiple approaches to getting it fixed. Two similar options we might recommend to you at Oak Tree Dental are inlays and onlays, which increase the strength of a tooth while providing long-term protection. These are often used when damage or decay is limited to a specific part of the tooth, and act as a conservative and stable restoration.
Invisalign – We provides Invisalign treatment and encourages patients to learn about the benefits of using clear aligners to straighten crooked teeth. This non-invasive orthodontic aligner is not only effective in treatment, but also nearly invisible for the discreet correction of misaligned teeth into a healthier, happier smile. This is often a big positive for adult patients who don’t want the look of metal braces in their mouth to affect their personal appearance.
Night Guards – Damage to your teeth can be caused even when you’re not awake, which is especially true for anyone who unconsciously grinds or clenches their teeth while sleeping. That constant grinding causes damage to the surface of both the upper and lower teeth, but we can help you prevent such damage. We can fit you for a comfortable, safe night guard to wear at night that can protect your teeth from further wear and tear.
Porcelain Veneers – Dental veneers are a popular solution for several issues with your smile, like crooked or misshapen front teeth, small cracks or chips, staining or discoloration. Veneers are typically made from porcelain, and are custom-created for each patient.
Retainers – Retainers are part of post-orthodontic treatment designed to maintain your new, straight bite and smile, and it’s important to use them correctly according to your orthodontist’s or dentist’s instructions. Poor or improper retainer use after braces can undo all the good work that was done and damage your final results. At Oak Tree Dental, we don’t offer traditional braces in our offices, but we are happy to help oversee your retainer care as part of your lifelong dental care.
Root Canals – A root canal treatment is needed when decay or damage has reached the nerve of a tooth. The procedure removes the soft tissue inside a tooth, called pulp, when it has become infected, inflamed, or otherwise diseased.
Teeth Whitening – Even healthy teeth discolor over time. The main causes of stained teeth are genetics, antibiotics, tobacco and certain foods. As we age, our teeth darken as well.Teeth whitening is a simple and effective way to brighten your smile. You can look younger and feel more confident with a whiter smile.
