I suffered a TBI with neurological Lyme disease for many years. I wasn’t able to withstand getting fillings. Lyme disease is very destructive to enamel and collagen so my teeth were quite the state. My nervous system and my brain were also still healing. I saw one technically excellent dentist in Occidental, who was emotionally unable to cope with my situation. His lack of empathy and hostility and dismissiveness… I don’t think I can express the impact when you’ve already been through so much. I was shocked, horrified, and I also knew I was right next to needing a root canal and this dentist dismissed me like I was an annoyance. And thank God he did. Because he was a terrible soul. And then I met Dr. Grados at Oak Tree dental. He was so kind, he was so present and calm. He listened and watched me, where he didn’t understand, he was keen to learn and fascinated. He enjoyed his work. He was diligent and happy, even as we found a way to manage my symptomology with his goals for my healing. He is excellent in every way and you can tell from the kindness and the sweetness in the whole office that they are proud to work there, and that he has chosen each one as a reflection of what he values. I have been going to the same dentist office for 56 years and he retired. I had great referrals from a friend for Dr.Grados.and his staff. So hard going to someone new but they did everything to make me comfortable. All very nice and explained everything. Also Dr. Grados took his time with me and never seemed to be in a hurry. I'm a pretty tough mama EXCEPT when it comes to the dentist (ok and ticks too but who's not afraid of those!) I embarrassingly went wayyyyy too long without dental care out of fear. Rather getting cavities than go back.I was referred to Oaktree for that very reason and can not be more grateful. They are so, so kind. Never making me feel bad having gone so long and very attentive to my fear. 2021 - June I just moved here a few months before I contacted them, and was pleased that my call was returned. they told me of all the details which would be done. I also needed two crowns, etc. and the whole things was done the same day!
